Actually the first piece of music the pair wrote together, ‘Augustine’ is a more stripped back and emotive affair this time. The sparse production gives the vocal room to breathe evoking a sense of release and letting go. The music develops around a percussive swung conga leading you into Lydia Kaye’s incredible haunting vocal. Her beautiful multi layered harmonies glide over the deep rising bass-line, sonically enforcing the repeating motif ‘I lost myself’ building the track into a piece of dreamy down-tempo alt-pop becoming mesmerising with the subtle chorus hooking you in on a subconscious level.
The EP comes with remixes from some of the undergrounds finest in the form of remixes from Bandulu gang’s very own Boofy & Wu Yen ( Hi5Ghost). Both take the original and flip it into straight up fire taking elements of the vocal but then dropping into their trademark dutty 808’s, snares and soundsystem shaking bass.
Finishing off with a glitchy remix from newcomer Art|Thft the EP is complete. Expect big things in the near future from him 😉
The original is also accompanied by an absolutely stunning video from the incredibly talented filmmaker Craig Murray (Mogwai, Snow Ghost, Houndstooth etc) starring his own wife, who pairs the delicate original with a brilliant short film. Using his trademark elements of stop motion animation and film, taking its influence from a mutual love of ‘komorebi’ , space and the universe and everything in between it is the final piece of the puzzle to complete the release.

LUUNA was born in York in late 2015. A meeting of three musical worlds, the group draws from a broad sphere of influence to produce a unique sound which lies somewhere between woozy melodic trip hop and dark, complex pop.
In the summer of 2016 they released their first music on soundcloud, 'A Big Fat Something', a track they were asked to create as part of a PRS funded project. The song was received to critical acclaim and strong radio support followed from BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing, 6Music and Amazing Radio.
Since then the band have continued to write, record, laugh, perform, drink wine, and explore the North of England. In December 2016, a year after their formation the band signed a deal to work with up and coming label, Young Thugs Records.
LUUNA have recorded and self produced the Moonflower EP which is set for release on Vinyl, CD & Digital on the 6th March 2017.
LUUNA is purelove. A project born out of the desire to create freely without limitation or destination, driven solely by the enjoyment of shared expression.
