(Hip/Hop & Trap) THE HIGH BREED Release Their New Trippy Trap Video

Being weird is often regarded as something strange that doesn't fit into a socially constructed norm.
Hip Hop collective The High Breed are aiming to prove that weird can be wonderful with their latest track "Weirdo"

They say....

"We believe everyone is weird in their own way and this uniqueness should be celebrated rather than ignored as it is a part of who we are"

This is the first song the group have experimented with in a trap style. The combination of faster pace, slick rhyming patterns and the wacky fair ground melody creates the perfect atmosphere to express the notion of weirdness as a sense of freedom.

The Lotus  grew up in the suburbs of central Italy and an anger towards a decadent Country grew within them. They are proud of being Italians but actually feel more like people of a European or World multiculturalism.

This desire to combine diversity has formed the band's genre: each member has a totally different view of music and this fact unites them instead of dividing.

Growing up in Italy, plagued by bigotry and corruption has had a profound effect on the lyrical content of The Lotus songs so far.

The Lotus have also travelled and indeed suffered for their art, ten years ago for example they were walking the streets of Los Angeles alone, with no money, playing in pubs on the outskirts. They had some beautiful moments but also tragic moments when Silvia, Luca's girlfriend passed away in a car accident.

They also travelled to the UK in a motorhome from Italy, and at every moment, even every motorway service area they tried to sell their music at any cost, and  actually gained many fans this way. They loved the UK so much that they moved there, which difficult at first but they are now beginning to see the fruits of their labour.

1st single ‘Mars-X’ received support from Kerrang, Musicology, Vents , Alt Corner, Total Rock and many more.

'Perfect Love' is the bands 2nd single, it’s a song that talks about love and desire, by going through an unusual path: the guilt. As the band explain:

“The society we're living in today has built its relational fundamentals on dogmatic hypocrisy that are the opposite to what is the root of being a human being.

In our century of pious and religious imperialism, we are forced to justify our instincts by blaming ourselves, and that makes us aliens in our own home.

So, who can tell us what is a Perfect Love? How can you escape the fruits of decay growing on us?

Truth, sharing, and understanding are the keys to free our souls.”

WotD
step things up with their latest release, joining forces with the mighty Pop Will Eat Itself and drawing on their background in the early noughties that saw the rise of chemical breaks, squeaks & bleeps & played a major role in a decade of DJ shows at home & across the globe for two of the bands members..

Christened on the type of rebellious rocktronic music that made the late 90s such a great era to be part of, the Warriors have drawn on that spirit to sum up the social chaos and political discontent that has spewed out of the globe over the last 12 months. "We're Taking Control" has elements of anger, disorder, angst hope and guts as the world moves into an uncertain future. We’re Taking Control is a vocal collaboration with Pop Will Eat Itself, known for a host of  hits like Wise Up Sucker, and the Prodigy collaboration, Their Law. PWEI take the track to the next level with their take on the turn of events.

B side Thou Shalt Not Follow is another message to the current governments and world leaders, and borrows the famous anti-authoritarian net meme “Go to work, get married…” and couples it to a distorted electronic rock track.

Remix wise Warriors of the Dystotheque have enrolled the services of the Acid Guru & Electronica legend Mr Justin Robertson, Justin was responsible for one of the 1st electronica outfits in Lionrock as well as making a name for himself as an international DJ for the best part of 25 years having graced the decks with the finest DJ’s in the best clubs on the planet, and remaining at the cutting edge of the electronic scene. Sit back strap in & enjoy this Acid trip as he steps up as deadstock 33's.

Next up is Kalahara, who are Lydia Kaye and Lex Shellard.
After a guest vocal from Lydia on a previous project of Lex’s the duo realised they both had a desire to create music on a deeper level that finally connects the dots & lets them express what they have always wanted to say.

By day Lex makes Film Trailer music for the likes of Marvel, Universal and Sony and is currently working with New Order on sound design for their forthcoming series of shows at Manchester Int. Festival - Lydia is a singer songwriter, writing toplines and songs for modern producer's like Howson's Groove to legends like Alison Moyet. Here they turn out a remix that contains “mild peril & slight darkness” something that would sit well alongside Bonobo’s finest works.
